Business Planning
"A goal without a plan is just a wish"
- Antonie de Saint-Exupéry
Business planning isn't a once a year guesstimate to please the Bank Manager
Earlier in my business life, I created half-baked plans full of promise and great expectations. I proudly sent the plan to the Bank Manager and potential Investors and waited for their reply. I'm confident they only skimmed the executive summary and looked at the bottom line of the projected Profit and Loss Statement. Rarely did anyone challenge my assumptions or question my intent.
I wished they had.
The COVID years challenged me to create a plan that I could work towards and confidently reassure my business partners that everything was under control. I dedicated numerous hours to reevaluating why and how to develop a plan that would keep my 40 person Tourism business afloat and we did. Despite the challenges, I persisted and ultimately crafted a plan that was effective and adaptable to the ever-changing circumstances of the pandemic and years that followed.
Creating the perfect business plan took time and effort. I spent months refining and tweaking numerous versions until it was just right. I scoured through various planning methodologies and online programs, but found that most lacked the intuitive tools and processes I needed for a quick and effective planning process. I was determined to develop a business plan that I could consistently use to guide my decisions and actions, and with perseverance, I was able to create one that exceeded my expectations and the 'Better Tomorrow' plan was born.
